Christmas in July (in August)

Monday, August 17, 2009

On the weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a 'Christmas in July' lunch (even though it's now August and feels like Spring). In the Christmas spirit, we gorged ourselves on food and gluvine and felt completely ill afterwards. It was heaven.

Starters: Prosciutto wrapped beans, sprouts and pine nuts (pictured), Jules' Bruschetta, Prawn Saganaki

Pork with apple/butterscotch sauce and lashings of extra crackling, green veggies (brussel sprouts and snow peas steamed and gently tossed in hot butter, salt and pepper).

Side of Carrots rolled in parmesan cheese, lemon juice, parseley and fried. With garlic aioli.

Rosemary and garlic lamb shanks, red cabbage, potato tartiflette, cauliflower bake.

My Plate!

Pecan praline doubled as desert and a birthday cake for Kate.

Caity xx
