One of my clients at work has a new website I am kind of obsessed.
http://www.circa.com.au/
Circa, the Prince is one of the best restaurants in St Kilda and the hotel is honestly amazing.  The awesome thing about the website though is the great journal written by the Head Chef, Matt Wilkinson.  If you are a massive foodie like me you will love it because he covers things like new fresh produce he has discovered, notes from research trips and pretty much anything else he thinks of related to food.

It is only in it's infancy now, but give it time and it will be great.

The site also has some really beautiful artwork that is worth checking out.

New Year's Pontoon Picnic

Sunday, January 3, 2010

It was nice to get away from all the drunken tourists lining Sydney city streets this New Year. The night was beautiful on the Hawkesbury River with a stunning, almost full moon at midnight. We sat back eating a Meredith blue, a soft marinated goats cheese and a truffled pecorino washed down with a particularly floral Avarus. We listened to The Velvet Underground and Cold War Kids, and the pop of all 3 fireworks lit off the Brooklyn Bridge.

To all our wonderful readers,
Thank you for all your support over the last year. We love you and adore you.
Although we took a short Christmas break we are back with a vengeance in 2010.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

New years resolution
L:  To only buy ridiculous statement shoes - I have been sensible for far too long.
C: Not to eat my weight in crackling. Oh, and to buy ridiculous statement shoes.

Favourite memory of 2009
L:  Cooking my first meal in my new apartment and hiking to wineglass bay in Tasmania with my boyfriend and eating devon sandwiches and strawberries on the most beautiful beach I have ever seen.
C: FIJI! Beachcomber - 2am, swimming amongst baby reef sharks out to moored boat and dancing to 'Bula, Bula!' JAPAN! - Dotombori and Harajuku.

Worst memory of 2009
L:  The experience of being told I had lost my job - but one of the best things that could have happened in hindsight
C: Too many to mention. - forgive and forget.

Moto for 2010
L:  Live up to your full potential
C: Throw caution to the wind, live every moment.

Gordons Bay

Sunday, December 20, 2009

These are some photos I took at Gordons Bay in Sydney last week. It's such a gorgeous area, the water is so clear, it's hard to believe its just down from Bondi! It's the perfect spot for a beach picnic. Don't forget your wayfarers and 30+.

Holiday outfits

Thursday, December 17, 2009

I love Christmas and New Years.  It gives me the chance to pull out the sparkle and wear those beyond fabulous dresses I have been wanting.
These are a few of my picks for the holiday dressing moments.

This one could be worn all year!  A brilliant LBD

For obviously sparkle-tastic reasons

This would look hot with a black tuxedo jacket

Sayonnara Caitlyn

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Tomorrow is the day when our beloved Caity says goodbye to Sydney and heads over to the land of Hello Kitty, socks with sandals, Sailor Moon, Gieshas, Pokemon and sushi.  Yes, that's right...Japan!
Others of us who aren't so lucky will be here holding down the blogging fort while she is away.  If anyone has any posts that they would like to contribute over the next few weeks, please drop me an email at lauraandcaity@gmail.com and maybe you to can become a blogging superstar too!
Note to Caity:
No pressure or anything but you had better come back with some awesome photos and stories for all the Deane & McLoughlin readers.
Love you C

Scandinavian escapades

Saturday, July 25, 2009

My mum and dad have just come home from a European adventure and I loved the photos so much of when they were in Scandinavia that I thought I'd share them here. It makes me want to go hug a reindeer and snuggle with Santa.

This is the most beautiful video i found thanks to M.A. Belle. One of the things that makes it so special is that it is made up of 4,500 photographs!

It makes me desperately want to be back in Italy with my love. Ti amo Italia e David
